How did you get started?
I started out competing in bodybuilding, and found that while I loved pumping iron and getting strong, I hated getting super girly for what ultimately felt like a beauty pageant. The type of competition powerlifting brought to my time spent in the gym felt much more rewarding than what the bodybuilding shows brought, so I made the switch a little over a year ago and I have never looked back!
What does your training look like?
I lift 4 days per week. Squat on Mondays, bench on Wednesdays, and Deadlift on Fridays. On Saturdays I go to town on my upper back and abs with a workout that is a bit higher volume, but I obviously keep everything heavy as hell. I also do 3 days a week of interval sprints on a stationary bike.
What does your diet look like?
I try to eat health food all of the time, but I’ll still go out to dinner with my husband or have a few too many beers occasionally. I try to eat extra carbs on powerlifting days and less carbs on non-training days.
Do you have any upcoming goals or competitions?
This May I am competing in my first national contest in San Antonio, TX! I am also aiming to do my first strongman meet this year.
Favorite Movie/TV show?
My favorite movie has been Billy Madison since I was about 12 years old, and my favorite TV show is The Walking Dead.
If you could trade places with anyone on earth for 24 hours, who would it be and why?
Whitney Houston. As a professional karaoke DJ, I can only dream what it would be like to be a legitimately amazing singer with the largest vocal range ever!
Favorite “cheat” meal?
I have to choose just one?!?
I guess it would be Seattle style teriyaki, and by that I mean HUGE portions!!
Who do you look up to?
My two older sisters, and Kim Walford, the strongest woman in the world!
What 3 things would you take with you on a desert island?
A terabyte hard drive of music and TV shows, headphones, and a laptop. I get bored very easily.
Whats the best way to follow you?
