How did you get started?
I’ve been lifting for a couple of years and have always been rather strong. My boyfriend is a bodybuilder and people would always notice how strong I was and how hard I work and ask if I was planning to compete in bodybuilding. Since I don’t have the discipline or desire to compete in bodybuilding he encouraged me to get into powerlifting. When I started I fell in love with it. It’s empowering and exciting to see what your body is capable of.
What does your training look like?
I do the 3 main lifts (Monday-Squat, Wednesday-Bench, Friday-Deadlift) and a fourth day that usually consists of a little of everything—arms, back, shoulders, legs and abs. I also try to do cardio about 5 days a week—low intensity and HIIT cardio.
What does your diet look like?
I follow an IIFYM type program. 5-6 meals a day consisting of approximately 40-50g of protein, 15-20g of fat and 15-20g of carbohydrates per meal. On days I train I typically eat a higher carb content prior to lifting.
Do you have any upcoming goals or competitions?
I plan to compete for the first time at the end of May.
Favorite Movie/TV show? Favorite movie: Dirty Dancing/TV show:
Vikings
If you could trade places with anyone on earth for 24 hours, who would it be and why?
No one? I really can’t think of anyone I’d want to be for 24 hours other than myself.
Favorite “cheat” meal?
Too many to list! 🙂 But most often probably a Red Robin burger and fries. Oh and ice cream! 🙂
Who do you look up to?
I don’t have any one in particular I can think of. I’m inspired by other women who push it to the limits and are in the gym giving it to their all.
What 3 things would you take with you on a desert island?
Food, water, a raft
