How did you get started?
I have always been involved in sports and an active lifestyle. I was more of a cardio bunny (and actually really enjoy running… I completed a half marathon in 2011). I didn’t learn about lifting until 2013. I started lifting heavy and really enjoyed having something to focus on in the gym. Performance vs aesthetics, however I did see big improvements aesthetically. I kept hearing about the importance of diet. I ate pretty clean, but no where near enough to properly fuel my body. I started working with Amber Orton Fokken for nutrition and then decided to go full force and compete.

What does your training look like?
Training changes depending on where I am at during prep. I do heavier building phases and closer to shows switch to circuits. I do 3-4 HIIT sessions per week and throw in some longer steady state cardio closer to show if necessary. A big focus for me is shoulders and glutes.

What does your diet look like?
I have always been a “clean” eater and luckily I like bland foods. I utilize IIFYM , which is awesome for flexibility, but I still stick to clean, unprocessed, “bro foods”. I like they way those food sources make me feel and look, but I have a massive sweet tooth and work in treats too!

Do you have any upcoming goals or competitions?
I will be competing at Vancouver Naturals on April 11th in Vancouver, WA. After that, May 9th at the Emerald Cup also in Washington. I will also be competing at a national level this year. Not sure which national show yet. I would also like to compete in the Flex Bikini Search at the Olympia.

Favorite Movie/TV show?
I really like watching House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Girls, and I was a big fan of Boardwalk Empire!

If you could trade places with anyone on earth for 24 hours, who would it be and why?
Hmm.. probably someone very successful like Mark Cuban (I would hopefully get to have their mindset for 24 hours too, right?!) or Tony Robbins. I purposefully chose two men because I would also enjoy seeing the differences in how men and women are perceived.

Favorite “cheat” meal?
I am such a snacker!! IIFYM doesn’t leave me feeling deprived, I could always work something in. Honestly, a “dream cheat meal” would just be lots of wine, a charcuterie board, and a ton of snacks (I really like having a little of everything! Popcorn, truffles, chips, gummy bears) during a night in of movie watching

Who do you look up to?
I have always looked up to my mom because she is such a hard worker. I got my work ethic from her, but her work ethic is still unparalleled. People ask me to describe my work ethic and it always sounds like a lame answer. It just is what it is. You do what needs to be done, no questions asked. That’s definitely my mom, she grinds.

I also really look up to my coach Amber Orton Fokken for a lot of reasons. She was successful while competing, now as a fitness model and sponsored athlete, and to top it off has her own successful business and is business saavy. A beauty to boot! Triple threat!

What 3 things would you take with you on a desert island?
Books! If that’s not allowed then a kindle preloaded with a solar charger Pen and paper and a radio or music player of sorts.

Whats the best way to follow you?
